To protect our data from attacks due to weak passwords, we will use multi-factor authentication for all systems. This will help verify digital identities and ensure only authorized users can access the organization’s data.

Do Log Outs
I’m guilty of, and so are most of my employees, staying logged into accounts and devices after we’re done. This is exactly what hackers look for to gain access. If you’re logged into an account and a hacker gets your device, you’ve made it very easy for them. They won’t need to break passwords or bypass firewalls—they’re already in.
That’s why my 2023 resolution is to log out of every device when I’m done. Every time. This applies to all our employees too. As a company update for the New Year, I plan to set up automatic logouts on all devices. And accounts whenever possible.

We want to make sure our employees know how to use the cybersecurity tools we provide, like firewalls and intrusion detection systems. This way, they can quickly identify malware, ransomware, and other harmful software.

Not every company needs to be an expert in everything. For specialized areas like cybersecurity, it’s often better to invest in a service rather than hire.

My resolution is to review, update, and strengthen our passwords every quarter. We often think password security is a one-time task, but data shows that’s not enough.

With this plan, we can get advice from security experts and improve how we handle problems. It’s crucial that any changes we make fit well into our systems.
